Hudson, New York — 130 golfers from across the region took to the fairways at the Columbia Golf and Country Club on Aug. 1 to raise a record breaking $65,500 to support Columbia Memorial Health’s (CMH) network of health care services in Columbia, Greene and Dutchess counties. The mixed scramble event, which took place at the Columbia Golf & Country Club in Claverack, kicked off with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Throughout the event, golfers were challenged to hit a hole-in-one to win either a 2015 Toyota Camry, offered by Kinderhook Toyota, or a week’s vacation in Hilton Head, offered by MetzWood Insurance. While competition was spirited, no one succeeded in winning the coveted prizes. Immediately following play was a celebratory reception and dinner, raffle drawings, auction and awards ceremony. More than 100 golfers competed in the popular 18-hole mixed scramble tournament on Monday, August 6th at Columbia Golf and Country Club. The tournament, now in its 16th year, raises funds to help the hospital provide the most advanced care for the families of our region. In the past five years alone, it has raised more than $185,000. Capital District Physicians Health Plan (CDPHP) generously served as the Dinner Sponsor of this year’s tournament. The Armstrong Family, Barbara and Peter Budelman, First Niagara, Beverly and Ira Ginsberg and Mohawk Hospital Equipment were Platinum Sponsors.
