Pictured: Richard N. McCarthy, Honoree and wife, Jean D. Hamilton The 20th Annual Columbia Memorial Hospital Ball in honor of Richard N. McCarthy was held Saturday, June 7th at The Point, Catskill, New York.  The sold-out event, produced by the Columbia-Greene Hospital Foundation, raised a record $675,000 for Columbia Memorial Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit Renovation/Expansion & New Technology Project. The theme, Carnaval, A Night In Rio, was evident to all, with scantily-clad professional Brazilian dancers, international entertainment, thirty foot ice bar complete with sculpture of Brazilian Dancer with feathered plumes, and temperatures that soared towards one hundred degrees, adding to the South American City atmosphere. The event, hosted by Michael and Patti Schrom of Ghent and Manhattan, is often called the kick-off to the summer’s social calendar of special events.   It is the most financially successful fundraising event in the entire Capital District and Hudson Valley.
