Columbia Memorial Health Foundation Announces New Board Appointment

(Hudson, NY) Rachel Puckett of Catskill, New York has been named as a new member of the Columbia Memorial Health Foundation Board of Trustees, the philanthropic arm of Columbia Memorial Health. Ms. Puckett has been employed by Mid-Hudson Cablevision for 15 years where she currently serves as Director of Community/Employee Relations and Planning—a role that integrates and emphasizes the importance of both community and employee relations. She also oversees the deployment of grants and coordinates strategies to close the broadband gap in Mid-Hudson’s service area. Additionally, she facilitates Mid-Hudson’s community donations each year, supporting numerous community organizations across the service area. Ms. Puckett also serves on various community organization boards in both Columbia and Greene Counties. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration degree, both from SUNY Empire State. Columbia Memorial Health’s Annual Ball Raises $480,000

HUDSON, N.Y. June 20, 2024 – Hundreds of benefactors and friends joined together on June 15 to attend the Columbia Memorial Health (CMH) Foundation’s Annual Ball at The Wire Event Center in Coxsackie, NY, raising more than $480,000 to support CMH’s network of health care services in Columbia and Greene counties. The annual gala honored former CMH Foundation Board Chair, and present board member, Anne M. Schomaker, and Immediate CMH Hospital Past President and current Trustee, Deborah E. Lans. The event featured a live auction to raise funds to support the purchase of advanced Philips Ambient MRI technology that will transform the patient experience. The innovative technology provides exceptional imaging and helps create a calming environment. Integrated dynamic lighting, video, and audio components help to soothe the anxious patient – enhancing the patient experience and satisfaction by reducing scan times, anxiety, and claustrophobia. 36th Annual CMH Hospital Ball to Honor Anne M. Schomaker & Deborah E. Lans

HUDSON, N.Y. March 27, 2024—Columbia Memorial Health (CMH) Foundation will honor Anne M. Schomaker and Deborah E. Lans at its 36th Annual Hospital Ball on June 15 at The Wire Event Center on the scenic Hudson River in Coxsackie. The CMH Foundation is pleased to honor Ms. Schomaker and Ms. Lans for their dedicated service and compassionate leadership. Ms. Schomaker has served on the Columbia Memorial Health Foundation Board of Trustees since 2008. She is currently the immediate past Chair and has served on the Hospital Ball Committee for five years. For 33 years she taught the upper elementary grades in Hauppauge, Long Island. She completed her master’s degree at Hofstra University in special education majoring in childhood learning disabilities and was selected for Who's Who Among American Teachers in 1990. She has served in many volunteer roles including as Trustee of the Columbia County Historical Society and Habitat of Humanity; Trustee for the Columbia Memorial Health Foundation, serving as Chair from 2019 – 2023; President of the Kinderhook Garden Club and President of the Columbia-Greene Child Advocacy Center. CMH Foundation and Columbia-Greene Community College Award 10 Scholarships to Nursing Students

HUDSON, N.Y. September 13, 2023 – The Columbia Memorial Health (CMH) Foundation and Columbia-Greene Community College (C-GCC) today announced the awarding of academic scholarships to 10 C-GCC nursing students. The first of its kind for CMH, the Columbia Memorial Health Foundation Nursing Scholarship program is a joint effort with C-GCC that was designed to provide direct financial support to local nursing students and bolster the nursing workforce at CMH’s hospital in Hudson. Under the program, each awardee will receive up to $10,000 per year and has committed to working for a minimum of two years at CMH upon their graduation from the C-GCC nursing program. The 10 nursing students selected for the award are: Korin Miller, Michael Vincenti, Danielle Sullivan, Patrick Mooney, Caitlin Sarubbi, Janis McCormick, Deidre Murphy, Michelle Keeler, Rebekah Walkes and Nicola Domville. Workforce shortages in health care, including in nursing, have dramatically increased since the pandemic, prompting health care and education institutions to seek innovative ways to increase the number of students entering nursing programs and working at local health care facilities upon their graduation.
