Gala to Raise Funds for State-of-the-Art Cardiac Technology

Hudson, New York – Columbia Memorial Health (CMH) announced it will be hosting its 33rd Annual Ball as a virtual event on September 25th.

Hosted by the Columbia Memorial Health Foundation, this year’s event—themed “Inspired by the Past, Building our Future”—will feature a special online auction to support CMH’s acquisition of state-of-the-art cardiac technology known as “View Point.” The technology will significantly improve the processes for reading and interpreting an echocardiogram, which is an ultrasound of the heart used to diagnose symptoms or to assess the health of the patient’s heart before and after surgery. It is a critical tool to diagnose, treat and prevent major cardiac illnesses.

Acquisition of the View Point system will enable CMH’s Cardiology team to gain access to patient images and reports from nearly any location, and will provide direct capabilities to colleagues at Albany Medical Center for image and report access, expediting any urgent patient care needs.  View Point will also augment CMH’s long term cardiac data storage capabilities.

“We are very excited to connect, even if virtually, with so many of our great friends and generous supporters,” said Anne Schomaker, Chair of the Columbia Memorial Health Foundation. “The Ball is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to reflect on the challenging year that is behind us, while providing the support necessary for CMH to meet any challenges that may lay in the road ahead. We are so very grateful to all of our supporters and offer our most profound thanks to the premier sponsors who have made the 33rd Annual Ball possible.

Columbia Memorial Health President and CEO Jay P. Cahalan said: “The Annual Ball has always been such a special event, and it means a great deal to all of us to share this time with friends and supporters. A virtual get together cannot fully take the place of our in-person Gala, but we continue to have to improvise in nearly every aspect of CMH operations and activities. One of the elements people comment on regarding our annual event, is that it provides a unique opportunity for any member of the community to essentially become part of the CMH care team. Attending the virtual Ball, and participating in the online auction, is an important way to help the CMH team meet its vital mission every day. We are enormously grateful to all of these special CMH “colleagues.”

Columbia Memorial Health offered thanks to all Annual Ball patrons, especially: Kneller Insurance Agency, John B. Fraser & Nancy J. Kyle, Mid-Hudson Cable, USI Insurance Services & PMA Companies, and the Bank of Greene County.

Sponsors and Guests will receive a link to the Virtual Event on September 25th at 6:00pm
